Principle
5. Consolidation
a. Combine in space homogeneous objects or objects destined
for contiguous operations
b. Combine in time homogeneous or contiguous operations
- Principle Description: Bring functions, characteristics or parts of a system into relationship to create a new, desirable or unique outcome. New functionalities can be created by combining functions that did not exist previously.
- Hints on Usage: Consider the current system and the performance / outcomes it delivers. Often performance and outcomes in physical systems are improved by introducing and combining new materials or new technologies into the old system to improve functionality. This principle can be used in psychology or human resource disciplines to alter relationships or to create new human resource capabilities.
