Principle
20. Continuity of Useful Action
a. Carryout an action without a break—all parts of an object
should be constantly
operating at full capacity
b. Remove an idle and intermediate motions
- Principle Description: Create continuous flow and/or eliminate all idle and intermediate motions to increase efficiency.
- Hints on Usage: Any transitional process, especially one that starts “from scratch” or that interrupts flow, can harm a system’s efficiency. Therefore, search dynamic systems for non-dynamic moments or wasted energy (motions) and eliminate them.
